COSOL
Website Rebuild

WordPress Rebuild, Content Migration & SEO Migration Plan — July 2026. A clean, lightweight rebuild of cosol.global that resolves the platform's technical debt, migrates every page and post on the current site, and recovers the SEO equity currently locked behind an indexing fault — delivered using COSOL's existing banked maintenance hours as credit toward the investment.

02 — The Situation

An old car.
Doing new-car mileage.

cosol.global is quietly outperforming its own foundation — site-driven revenue has quadrupled and qualified enterprise leads have grown nearly five-fold year-on-year. But the platform underneath is fighting the business, not helping it.
03
03 — Context

284 pages.
29 indexed.

cosol.global has grown organically for well over a decade — 118 core pages, 163 insight and case study posts, and a handful of landing pages spread across solutions, technologies, industries and an investor centre. Restricted platform access and an ageing build mean routine maintenance now takes roughly three times longer than it should, and a technical indexing fault is currently hiding almost all of that content from Google.

"Google Search Console says that only 29 pages on our website are indexed. If I understand correctly this would be limiting our visibility on search engines, correct?"

— Marilyn Martin, GM Brand & Marketing APAC, COSOL — 9 June 2026
The fix isn't another patch on the current build. It's a clean, lightweight WordPress rebuild — the same content, restructured onto a small set of fast, reusable templates, migrated with a full redirect map so nothing currently ranking is put at risk.

05 — Project Scope

Five phases.
One clean rebuild.

Phase 01

Discovery & Content Audit

  • Full crawl and inventory of all 284 live URLs
  • Page-type classification into template groups
  • Redirect map planning — legacy URL to new URL
  • Priority tiering: commercial pages vs. legacy insights
10 hrs
Phase 02

WordPress Build — Templates & Design System

  • Clean, lightweight WordPress theme — no page-builder bloat
  • ~10 reusable templates: Home, Solution, Technology, Industry, Insight/Case Study, Investor Centre, About/Team, Contact/Landing, Legal
  • Core Web Vitals-first build, mobile-first responsive
  • Native, unrestricted content-editor access
40 hrs
Phase 03

Content Migration

  • Hands-on migration and QA for ~50 priority commercial pages
  • Templated bulk migration for the remaining ~230 insight, case study and landing pages
  • Image and asset migration, alt text and metadata carried over
  • Thin or duplicate legacy content consolidated where it no longer earns its place
40 hrs
Phase 04

SEO Migration & Indexing Recovery

  • Full 301 redirect map covering all 284 existing URLs
  • Fix for the noindex/exclusion fault currently limiting indexing to 29 pages
  • XML sitemap regeneration and Search Console resubmission
  • Meta title/description and canonical carryover, internal link revalidation
14 hrs
Phase 05

QA, Launch & Hypercare

  • Cross-device and cross-browser QA
  • Broken-link sweep, pre and post launch
  • Go-live cutover
  • 2-week hypercare window post-launch
4 hrs
06
06 — Effort Distribution

Hours by phase.

Build and migration carry the bulk of the effort — the templates need to be right before nearly 300 pages of content get poured into them. SEO migration is scoped separately to protect the equity already sitting in the existing site.

08 — SEO Migration Plan

Protecting — and growing —
what's already ranking.

🔗
Redirect Every URL
All 284 existing URLs get a mapped 301 redirect to their new home — nothing goes live without a destination, so no ranking signal is dropped in the move.
🔍
Fix the Indexing Fault
The noindex/exclusion issue currently hiding roughly 90% of the site from Google gets resolved as part of the rebuild, not left for a future ticket.
📈
Resubmit & Monitor
New XML sitemap submitted to Search Console on launch day, with indexing coverage monitored through hypercare to confirm recovery.
🧩
Consolidate the Long Tail
Old, thin, or duplicate insight posts are merged into stronger hub pages rather than rebuilt 1:1 — fewer, better pages instead of 163 posts competing with each other.

Rebuild
investment.

Net Investment (excl. GST)
$14,940
108 hrs × $180/hr = $19,440 — less 25 banked maintenance hours ($4,500 credit)
Banked Hours Applied
COSOL's 25 banked maintenance hours are applied directly against this project as a credit, reducing the cash investment required. Net investment after credit: $14,940 + GST. Payment structured by phase. Scope assumes full, unrestricted WordPress/API access is provided from kickoff — the single biggest cause of delay on the current build.
